Right to strike of workers in India with special reference to public sector banks a study

Abstract

Public sector bank play vital role in the development of economy in every country. Right to strike of workers in Public Sector Banks are not Fundamental rights under the constitution of India. However it is Legal statutory implied Right of workers Under the Industrial Legislation like industrial Dispute Act, 1947.Workers right to strike effects on the industrial relations. Strike is form of industrial conflict and Industrial conflict had lead to improvement of working condition and to change which are desirable. This right of workers can be strengthening the industrial relation. The study would help the bank workers and leaders of banks union in understand and analyzing the legal provisions relating to strike under IDA, 1947 and consequence and effects of strike on industrial relation as well as society at large. newlineIn this my thesis chapter one is related to general introduction. Chapters two describe the historical perspective of strike. Chapter three explain the international law and chapter four is related to legal provision relating to right to strike in India. Chapter five related to judicial response on right to strike of workers in India and chapter six is empirical study of my thesis as well as chapter seven conclusions and suggestion. newline newline
