Abstract: | In an interconnected power system maintaining the frequency tie line power flow and voltage stability are important tasks for power system researchers because of its increasing size and complexity of the network Load Frequency Control LFC is used for frequency regulation and Automatic Voltage Regulator AVR is used for voltage regulation in any synchronous generators connected and run in parallel In LFC steady state frequency deviation is achieved for the system load change with the help of primary control loop present in the Automatic Generation Control AGC When the frequency variations, due to small or large disturbances, are not able to settle within the limit and time some robust controllers are needed Various conventional controllers intelligent controllers and robust controllers are used in this field For better noise and disturbance rejections and set point tracking fractional order controller is used in common Mean while many optimization algorithms are used for getting better controller parameters Due to simple robust high speed convergence and ease of operation Particle Swarm Optimization PSO algorithm is mostly used for many applications In this research PSO based Fractional Order Proportional plus Integral FOPI controller has been designed to maintain the tie line power and frequency deviation for four area interconnected power system newline |
