Abstract: | In the technology world the need for material is increasing day by day At the same time it is a challenging task to improve the life of the material when subjected to various applications The corrosion and wear plays an essential role in reducing the life of the material To meet the needs of the Industry for corrosion and wear applications it is necessary to improve the surface property of the material The various surface modification techniques are thermal treatment thermo chemical treatment plating coating and friction surfacing Among them friction surfacing is the best method to improve the surface property of the material because of clean dense and fine microstructure and joining of dissimilar metal combinations In this present work the base material is the mild steel substrate and the Friction surfacing tool material is novel developed AA50835 Cadmium alloy AA50835 Cadmium alloy is developed by using Stir Casting method The tool materials mechanical properties were identified using tensile compression and micro hardness tests as per various ASTM standards The Metallurgical tests like EDAX Optical microscopic XRDSEM were also carried out as per various ASTM standards newline |
