Abstract: Oral Cancer is the sixth most common cancer worldwide and the prognosis of Oral Cancer has not changed worldwide over the last five decades despite the advances in technology and surgical techniques There is also a lack of universal molecular marker for Oral Cancer The significance of the study is that the histopathologic assessment is subjective and has intra and inter observer variability Some low grade dysplasias progress to carcinoma while higher grades may remain static or even regress Potentially Malignant disorders of the oral cavity Current practice and future directions in the clinic and laboratory Kalen R Dionne Saman Warnakulasuriya, Rosnah Binti Zain Sok Ching Cheong Int J Cancer 136 503 to 515 2015 Necessity to identify molecular markers to foresee the disease aggressiveness and the clinical course It is also noted that CyclinD1 and CENP F is over expressed in majority of human malignancies but its role in oral potentially malignant disorders has not yet been investigated Their potential in malignant transformation of oral potentially malignant disorders is not studied earlier Null hypothesis There is no appreciable expression of the proliferative markers Cyclin D1 and CENP F in oral squamous cell carcinoma and oral potentially malignant disorders Alternate hypothesis There is an appreciable expression of proliferative markers CyclinD1 and CENP F in oral squamous cell carcinoma and oral potentially malignant disorders to determine the expression of proliferative markers CyclinD1 and CENP-F in Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders and Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma newline
