Abstract: | This research work presents a control scheme for power quality problem by implementing distribution static synchronous compensator DSTATCOM and enhancing the Power Quality PQ by utilizing the many optimizing techniques In the vast field of DSTATCOM applications compensation for supply voltage flicker imbalance reactive power negative sequence current component and harmonics are discussed in this research work In other words the DSTATCOM has the capability of improving the PQ at the point of common coupling in the power distribution system The main attributes for PQ problems are voltage sag voltage swell unbalanced load current and voltage harmonics these causes undesirable effect on the bearing These PQ issues are compensated by DFACTS devices A high performance of the DSTATCOM is mainly characterized by PQ problem optimization The three phase power supply for DSTATCOM is analyzed with the help of the different power converters like shunt converters VSC etc Based on the converter the DSTATCOM reduces the distortion thereby enhancing the power quality The enhanced UPQC devices performance can improve the PQ issues tracking voltage sag voltage swell total harmonic distortion and balanced unbalanced load to their respective control methodologies With the most suitable control strategy for the DSTATCOM its performance can be significantly utilized for improving the PQ In this thesis many intelligent techniques have been proposed to suppress the PQ issues by successful implementation of DSTATCOM The various intelligent techniques Artificial Neural Network Fuzzy Logic Control newline |
