Abstract: | The fundamental infrastructure to monitor physiological and activity parameters are well supported by Wireless Sensor Network WSN The wearable devices technically referred as wireless nodes are used to measure one or more vital signs of user Each wireless node is made as a tiny device to be equipped with appropriate storage power and transmission capability The transmission over wireless medium experiences packet loss due to various factors such as interferences improper deployment scenario distance and poor signal strength The work focuses on monitoring of users physiological as well aspostural activity information in both home care and hospitalcare applications The WSN demonstrated in this study with advent of indigenously developed wireless sensor nodes that are used to analyse various network characteristics such as received signal strength transmission offset packet delivery ratio and signal to noise interference The work also empowers conventional WSN by employing various communication strategies such as Cooperative Communication CC and Network Coded Cooperative Communication NCCC The proposed system creates an opportunity to localize the approximate position of user in an indoor environment without requiring any camera network interfaces A real time demonstration of hospital sensor network for monitoring postural activity and health of a patient is carried out The system is promoted to ensure an ontime adequate assistance to the patient newline |
