Abstract: A 246Tris 4nitrophenyl pyridine TNPP was synthesized from nitrobenzaldehyde and nitroacetophenone in glacial acetic acid and confirmed The TNPP monomer further reacted with diamines such as benzidine phenylenediamine melamine and sulphanilamide to obtained azo linked polymers 246Tris 4nitropheny pyridinebenzidine TNPPB 246Tris 4nitrophenyl pyridinephenylenediamine TNPPP 246tris 4nitrophenyl pyridinemelamine TNPPM 246tris 4nitrophenyl pyridinesulfanilamide TNPPS The synthesised polymers structure was confirmed by various experimental techniques FTIR solidstate 13C NMR UVvisible spectroscopy Xray diffraction XRD particle size was calculated using WilliamsonHall WH plot from powder XRD pattern scanning electron microscope SEM fluorescence spectroscopy cyclic voltammetry DSC and TGA The FTIR spectra of all the azolinked functional group of polymers were observed at 1592 cm1 and 1596 cm1 The TNPPB based TNPP polymer exhibit high thermal decomposition temperature Td at 403 C UVvis absorption spectra for TNPPB and TNPPP were absorbed in the region 300375 285385 and 350400 nm The thermal analysis of TNPPS polymer displayed an excellent thermal stability and capsulelike morphology was observed UVvisible absorptions of TNPPS and TNPPM polymers exhibit two bands a strong band at 365 nm and a shoulder at 385 nm for TNPPM these polymeric semiconducting materials could be useful for solar fuel cell applications These polymer materials could be used for optical and energy applications All the azo linked polymers was incorporated with single walled carbon nanotubes SWCNTs to obtain the nanocomposites theses nanocomposite materials were characterized with the different techniques newline
