Quality is an important element in the design aspects of aggressive Automobile and Mechanical Industry The noise generated by specific elements and mechanics in the reduction unit worm shaft w wheel mechanism and motor of Column electric power steering may play a significant function in determining the perceived quality of the overall noise and in turn the perceived quality of these Automobile structures The goal of the current research is to describe the noises made by the phenomenon known as rattle noise and to create a version that may be utilized to assess equipment rattle levels in a way that joins directly with individual comprehension of rattle Motor assisted electric power steering is familiarly being applied in the passenger vehicle sector Since it has many advantages over conventional steering system in Safety Steering comfort and driving convenience The steering effort is controlled by reduction gears worm wheel and worm shaft through Torque sensor ECU and Motor Electric power steering is influenced by some noise issues one among them is rattle noise due to backlash after durability between motor coupler spline and worm shaft spline and also deflection in motor shaft and worm shaft which makes direct metal to metal contact thus produces rattle noise This noise is unpleasant to the driver Electric power steering manufacturers are applying different types of coupler mechanisms to control rattle noise In this experiment we can see how the rattle noise is reduced by replacing the existing damping coupler assembly to a new concept of design Improved design structure of Boss Coupler with rubber bush introduced between splines of motor shaft and Worm shaft by avoiding direct metal contact and also avoids shaft deflection in the reductionunit of the Column electric Power Steering newline
