Abstract: | Many renewable technologies are currently available for producing the energy from the biomass sources such as gasification anaerobic digestion ethanol fermentation pyrolysis transesterification etc Anaerobic digestion technology is highly attractive in this regard and is widely employed in treating the biomass waste Anaerobic digestion provides an array of positive environmental benefits such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions replacing mineral fertilizers producing renewable energy and treating waste However pitfalls in anaerobic digestion such as process instability due to environmental condition and regional shortages of feedstock have limited the full exploitation of the anaerobic digestion process Food waste available at Surya Group of Institutions was chosen and the biogas production potential was evaluated through laboratory scale batchanaerobic reactors The process parameters such as solid concentration pH and temperature were analyzed experimentally for biogas production From the lab scale study 10 of total solid concentration temperature 50C and pH value 7 were found to best in the biogas yield as well as degradation efficiency newline |
