Abstract: | The stability of a power system grid is most important in electrical power system operation One of the fundamental issues in modern interconnected power systems is the low signal oscillatory instability caused by the presence of low frequency electromechanical oscillations within the system During the low frequency oscillations 012 Hz the power grid tends to drive the system to an unstablestate To mitigate this weakness supplementary controller called power system damping controllers are employed to effect further damping to the electromechanical oscillations experienced within the power systemsThe objective of the current research is to develop small signal stabilityin Doubly Fed Induction Generator DFIG based wind power generationsystems by designing and implementing fuzzy controller Bio inspired Particle Swarm Optimization PSO and Modified BAT MBAT based optimal damping controllers for damping the electromechanical oscillations encountred in DFIG based power system A linearized state space modeling has been proposed for single machine infinite bus system model for various wind speedsThe proposed damping controller design is constructed on a Triobjective optimization criterion It involves system Eigenvalues damping ratios and time domain deviations rotor speed and power angle deviations newline |
