Entrepreneurial traits among students of arts and science colleges for women in Tamil Nadu

Abstract

Entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in the growth of any society particularly in a fast developing country like India. Like a male entrepreneur, a woman entrepreneur also has to perform the function of exploring the prospects of starting new enterprises, handling of economic uncertainties, introduction of innovations, coordination and control management. It is a notable feature that women s participation in entrepreneurial activities in India is relatively a new phenomenon. In general, student entrepreneurship is a program or activity that takes students through the process of learning that enables them to be successful small business owners. Recognizing the role played by student entrepreneurs, the Government of India has been providing a lot of facilities and financial subsidies to improve the whole small scale sector through various schemes. The study attempts to analyze the factors influencing women entrepreneurship among the Arts and Science colleges for Women in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Tiruchirappalli districts. The thesis is organized into Five Chapters. The first chapter titled Introduction and Design of the Study deals with the Introduction, Statement of the Problem, Review of the Literature, Scope of the Study, Operational Definitions of Concepts, Objectives of the Study, Formulation of Hypotheses, Methodology, Geographical Coverage, Period of the Study, Field work and Collection of Data, Framework of Analysis, Data Processing, Limitations of the Study and the Scheme of Report. newline
