Abstract: newlineNotch signaling is one of the most primitive signaling pathways in terms of its newlinediscovery. In fact, it has been a century since Notch was first discovered. Studies on newlinemechanisms and regulations of Notch pathway have gained utmost importance over newlinethe years and a plethora of information has been generated suggesting the newlineindispensability of Notch pathway in almost every cellular and developmental newlinecontext. Notch pathway defines an evolutionarily conserved, pleiotropic yet tightly newlinemonitored signaling system that regulates a variety of cell fate choices during newlinedifferentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, migration and self-renewal processes of newlinedifferent tissues (Artavanis-Tsakonas et al., 1999; Fortini, 2009; Liu et al., 2010; newlineAndersson et al., 20011; Guruharsha et al., 2012). To keep a track of the signaling newlineoutput in all these cellular events, Notch is subjected to tight regulation at the level of newlinereceptor and ligand biosynthesis, post-translational modifications, ligand-receptor newlineinteraction and its trafficking
