Abstract: While the various type of structures the examination of the raft is done by excluding the influence of firmness of the frame of the structure This investigation of the superstructure excluding the shaping of foundation correctly and the other hand examining the structure devoid of rigidness of the upper portion of the building may misinform the judgement of the forces twisting moments the deformations of the footings etc The variables which influence interface between the super structure and soil mass are divided into relative firmness of the raft krs and relative firmness of superstructure ksb are investigated in this project A ten storied 3 bays by 5 bays of framed structure has been chosen for the interaction analysis using ANSYS finite element code It has been assumed that the soil mass is of homogenous an isotropic and elastic half space medium From the investigation it was observed that the act of the raft relies on the factor ksb values The raft moments in the end span is directly proportional to the value of ksb value The moments Mx and My in the corner column at all the storey levels are higher in the case of the interaction analysis than in the conventional analysis The raft foundation is best suited for shallow foundation In order to study the soil structure behaviour for the deep foundation this thesis also includes the study of behaviour of piled foundation The Euro code 7 pseudo code and SM analysis also been done for the examination of the soil structure behaviour A raft foundation is essentially a slab construction on soil Such a slab works as a medium which spreads the entire load from the structure over a large area newline
