dc.description.abstractThe tremendous growth in mobile computing leads to a global move towards the usage of mobile devices and lightweight devices In many scenarios sensitive information should be send through the internet which is considered as an open and insecure network The sensitive data should be secured to ensure end to end security The lightweight handheld mobile devices have a lot of constraints in terms of cost performance and security To design a cryptographic algorithm to ensure data confidentiality in mobile applications and devices we have to cope with the trade off between security cost and performance In this work an efficient dynamic cryptographic algorithm called Panchami Varghese Wahi PVW Cipher is proposed The PVW cipher is designed for mobile and lightweight cryptographic applications The Elliptic curve based Diffie Hellman algorithm is used for key management The performance of PVW cipher is measured in terms of cost performance and security The results show that PVW cipher is very efficient fast and the highly secure when compared with the existing symmetric block ciphers newline
