Pump is one of the few products which humankind needs to use for carrying out several processes and activities Pump was invented by humankind during ancient time Thereafter consistent efforts are being done to design and produce several types and models of pumps for meeting the requirements of many applications Thus the field of pump manufacturing has developed as a pump industry Due to its spontaneous growth the pump industry began to generate wealth in the world from 1930s and many pump manufacturing companies were started in several parts of the world till the year 1980 Thereafter many pump manufacturing companies situated in many parts of the world could not face the impact of competition and began to reduce their business volume This is due to reason that the forerunners in pump manufacturing industry could produce new models of pump by reducing their sizes and increasing their efficiency so as to attract the attention of the customers On the other hand pump manufacturing companies which could not react this way slowly came out of the competitive race In other words pump manufacturing companies which have been acquiring agility characteristics have been able to sustain the onslaught of the competition Agility refers to the characteristics that enable the companies to react quickly in accordance with the dynamic demands of the customers newline
