Abstract: | MANET refers to wireless network in that all the mobile nodes can be easily adapted to change their location dynamically without any fixed infrastructure due to their mobility and offers flexibility in the network configuration Since network nodes are inadequate in energy and computational power an efficient rebroadcast mechanism is extremely essential for the overall network performance A proficient mechanism for reliable route discovery to send messages to all the nodes in such networks is broadcasting An efficient and reliable route discovery for rebroadcasting with less broadcast overhead and high reachability has been emerging as one of the foremost challenges in the field of research in mobile ad hoc Networks MANETs environments Broadcasting is an effective and essential communication primitive for route discovery and route maintenance in wireless ad hoc networks and emergency or warning message dissemination in disaster and battlefield An individual optimal scheme is not suitable for entire scenarios, due to topological challenges the mobility of nodes lack of centralized management and reachability problem The mobile nodes in the wireless medium are scarce in energy and the efficiency of broadcast operation is determined by less number of rebroadcast less broadcast overhead and high network reachability Broadcast overhead End to End Delay and Energy Consumption associated with broadcasting can be fairly large especially in a highly dynamic and dense network and reachability is less in the static and sparse network Abdulai et al 2007 The broadcasting deserves large routing overhead and thus causes redundant retransmissions contentions and collisions which are considered as major problems Hence in order to improve the broadcasting performance in MANET optimizing the operation of broadcasting in reliable route discovery is an effective solution It is an important research theme and many applications such as Military battlefield Cooperative work Local level Personal space network and Bluetooth Business Sector Emergency and Rescue operations can be employed in it newline |
