Abstract: Comfortable indoor air quality is more important in ergonomically comfort living space In India the awareness of ventilation and indoor air quality has been increasing for several years To achieve best thermal and human comfort is still a difficult task in a human occupied indoor environment Work performance and human comfort are included with indoor air quality in various living spaces like buildings and airtight compartments Indoor air quality is one of the prime factors in determinining occupant health and comfort Subsequently it seems to be highly essential that to achieve effective ventilation the optimum ventilation parameters are selected with the help of optimization techniques The investigation aims in determining the key factors such as occupants health and comfort in a patient room in a hospital building vehicle indoor cabin and indoor academic auditorium by using optimization techniques Indoor air quality plays a vital role in health considerations It relates to the thermal and human comfort of the indoor occupants especially a patient room in a hospital building The thermal comfort is determined through temperature and relative humidity and the improvement of human comfort is obtained from the reduction of oxides and particulates of measured ventilated patient room The monitoring was carried out on three different ventilation systems such as naturally ventilated passive split ventilated and constant active ventilation in hospital building for two different human load conditions Among the monitored ventilation the constant active ventilation achieves comfortable indoor air quality The significance of fresh air supply and human load are identified by using the experimental monitoring The results declare that the importance of proper mode of ventilation in patient room helps to preserve the comfortable indoor quality and thermal comfort newline
