Abstract: An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of using an integrative strategy to improve the communicative skill of Higher Secondary students. This was done by comparing the oral and written performance of the students who were taught grammar, listening, reading and speaking using Integrative Strategy Learning Method to that of the students who were taught the same skills in Traditional Learning Method separately. The population of the study includes all the Higher Secondary students of Tamil Nadu. The investigator selected 58 students of XIth standard from S.S.H.N. Higher Secondary School, Muhavur to represent the population. The responses given by the students in the pre-test, post-test formed the vital data required for the analysis. The collected data were analysed using appropriate statistical techniques such as percentage analysis, t-test, F-test and ChiSquare test. The major findings of the study show that experimental group students have high level of gain scores. More over the experimental group girl students have high level of gain scores than control group girls. The t test result reveals that, in total, the experimental group students are better than the control group students in their gain score. The findings reveal that there is no significant difference in the gain scores of boys in the experimental group and control group. There is no significant difference between control and experimental group first generation learners of Higher Secondary Students in pre-test score. But there is significant difference between control and experimental group first generation learners in their gain score. The t test reveals that there is no significant in the gain scores of experimental group Christian students. But there is significant difference between the experimental group Hindu students and control group Hindu students. The Hindu students in the experimental group are better than the Hindu students in the control group in their gain score.
