Abstract: In recent years a rapid innovation of new technologies and modernization brought a wide attention on increased energy demands So to meet the energy demand many new technologies of energy conservation methods had been adopted instead of setting up new power plants Due to the depletion of fossil fuels and global warming the researchers are more concentrating on renewable energy utilization Verma et al 2012 The solar based photovoltaic power has some advantages compared with solar thermal power wind power and hydropower But the latter three power generation schemes require turbines with moving parts Hence they produce noise and also require more maintenance Therefore the integration of the renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic PV wind and fuel cells connected with the grid is found to be very much essential Since solar energy is significantly efficient source of clean energy and thus it is extensively used as an alternative source of electrical energy Also for the conversion of solar power from DC to AC the Multi Level Inverters MLI are broadly used But the MLI creates many power quality issues due to the harmonics generated by the power electronic switches used The harmonics at the output can cause huge problems in electrical equipments due to the nonlinear loads connected with the distribution of the power system The lower distortion level at the inverter output with a pure sinusoidal voltage and current can be used for sensitive equipments newline
