dc.description.abstract | Nowadays crystals produced artificially to satisfy the needs of science technology and ornamental purpose Crystals are solids consisting of an ordered array of atoms or molecules arranged in a regular repetitive manner in three dimensions Modern technology requires physicists chemists electrical engineers metallurgists and crystal growers to assist each other at many levels Several kinds of single crystal find application for the development of technologies such as high and low emery particle physics nuclear fusion display thermal imaging etc Based on this scientific thought research was carried out to explore new materials and to grow single crystals of enhanced nonlinear optical properties The thesis consists of seven chapters discussing important interesting issue in relation to growth and characterization of urea and thiourea mixed NLO crystals The first chapter deal with the basic theory of crystal growth was studied and crystal growth parameters such as solubility saturation super saturation nucleation phenomena and Meta stable zone width were described. newline | |
