A new approach is proposed in improving the performance of solar still In this thesis the single basin single slope glass cover passive type solar still is fabricated with black lime stone Cuddappa stone and also the performances of the solar still are to be compared with different types of energy storing materials such as glass balls pebbles gravels and nanomaterial In water purification process the unwanted chemicals biological contaminants and suspended solids gases are removed from contaminated ground water Normally water is purified for human consumption mainly for drinking purpose But water purification may also be designed for a variety of other purposes including the industrial requirements medical fields and chemical applications Many processes are available for water purification The desalination is one of best and cheap method of water purification In this desalination method the saline water is evaporated by using some source of thermal energy and the steam is collected and condensed as good drinking water newline
