The emergence of antibiotics resistant bacteria has been increasing worldwide The infection of these bacteria can cause worse clinical conditions for example the colonization of multi antibiotic resistant microbes in the wounds like Diabetic Foot Ulcer DFU can cause severe infection and delay wound healing This can lead to amputation or even death Thus there is an urgent need of discovery of alternative drugs to overcome the antibiotic resistance and its adverse clinical problems Nowadays the applications of metallic nanoparticles especially the nanostructured silver has been increasing in the field of medicine because it acts as a carrier for therapeutic compounds drugs and also facilitates targeted action The herbal plant Aerva lanata AL is traditionally used to treat cuts wounds however there is no scientific report about its wound healing action At the same time herbal therapy has been producing the poor delayed therapeutic effect which is mainly due to the particle size less absorption etc Thus the present study planned to synthesize silver nanoparticles by using the whole plant aqueous extract of Aerva lanata and evaluate their effects on multi antibiotic-resistant bacterial isolates from DFU and the wounds of diabetic rats This study was carried out in four different sections The enrichment of various phytochemicals such as flavonoids rutin quercetin kaempferol polyphenols gallic acid ellagic acid and total saponins in the prepared AL extract was confirmed through the quantitation of phytochemicals newline
