Abstract: The present study titled A Study on the Emotional Intelligence of Executives in Telecommunication Companies at Coimbatore aims to analyse the Emotional Intelligence level of executives working in Telecommunication companies at Coimbatore city Also the various dimensions of Emotional Intelligence like self awareness self regulation motivation empathy and social skills are analysed in detail Socioeconomic factors of the respondents and their relationship with Emotional Intelligence level of the executives are also analysed in elaboration The study has brought out that the Telecommunication companies have executives in a mixed composition It can be observed that 7032 of respondents are working in front end department ie closer interaction to the customers 5504 of the respondents are single 7464 of the respondents are male and 8040 of the respondents are up to 30 years of age 4928 of the respondents have no dependents and having an educational qualification of degree or diploma 6599 In the job profile 6282 of the respondents are at junior management They come in the monthly income range of up to Rs 20000 6340 and 8329 of the respondents are having an experience of below 10 years They have less than two promotions 7378 in total work life 7003 of respondents have no number of organizations change in work life 6571 of respondents have below 5 years of experience in the present organizations and have below 2 years of experience in the present post 6830 3861 of respondents have attended 1 to 3 programmes in their total work life but majority of the 4409 of the respondents have not attended any self development training programmes Leadership programmes attended by 6196 of the respondents in their work life newline
