With the escalating world population progress in society and science and technology mankind faces a serious problem of water pollution Among the different types of water pollutants industrial effluents containing a high concentration of organic dyes represent a major polluting group in the natural environment Hence in view of the detrimental effects of dyes on the environment and living beings treatment of wastewater containing dyes is essential A wide range of techniques have been investigated for the removal of dye containing effluents Comparatively adsorption is an affordable technique being able to capture dye pollutants from wastewater it operates in a more simple efficient and environmentally benign way Polymers exhibit the hallmarks of a good adsorbent with enhanced recycling non toxicity hydrophilic biocompatible and biodegradable nature Copolymers of polyacrylamide are used as adsorbents for the elimination of synthetic dyes in aqueous medium In addition to enhance the efficiency inert support is introduced into the polymer matrix In the present investigation Polyacrylamide graphite PAM graphite Glucose grafted PAM graphite Gu g PAM graphite and Glucosamine grafted PAM graphite GA g PAM graphite are prepared by in situ free radical polymerization method The physic chemical properties of adsorbents are investigated using Fourier Transform Infrared FT IR spectroscopy 1H and 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance NMR spectroscopy Scanning Electron Microscopy SEM X Ray Diffraction XRD Thermogravimetric Analysis TGA and Nitrogen N2 sorption techniques FT IR 1H and 13C NMR analyses confirm the structure of synthesized products newline
