Abstract: Biomass can be converted into liquid and gaseous fuel through biochemical and thermo chemical energy conversion methods Gasification is the widely used technique for converting the biomass into gaseous fuel called producer gas Major constituents of producer gas includes carbon monoxide hydrogen and methane which can be processed for heating application chemical preparation and used as fuels in IC engines with dual mode operation A new self circulating fluidised bed Gasifier has been designed and fabricated Experimental investigation of gas composition gas yield gas heating value overall carbon conversion and cold gas thermal efficiency for individual biomass of Rice Husk RH Coir Pith CP and Saw Dust SD under the influence of Equivalence ratio of 0 3 0 4 and 0 5 which is the ratio between actual to stoichiometric air fuel ratio has been studied in the above gasifier Experimentation has been carried out for biomass binary mixture with different combination of 50 50 25 75 and 75 25 of rice husk coir pith and saw dust The experimental data obtained during gasification shows a highest yield of 10 of hydrogen has obtained at an equivalence ratio of 0 3 The experimental result shows that increasing equivalence ratio increases the gas production rate for RH CP and SD Carbon conversion efficiency reached its maximum value of 93 during saw dust gasification at ER0 5 newline
