Abstract: | The domestic refrigerator is found in almost all homes for preserving the food items The most widely used refrigeration cycle in the domestic refrigerator is the vapour compression refrigeration cycle In vapour compression system there are four major components such as evaporator compressor condenser and expansion valve The compressor is driven by the electric motor and it is the major power consuming device of the refrigerator The domestic refrigerator uses R134a refrigerant as working fluid R134a is a refrigerant also known as Tetrafluoroethane CF3CH2F from the family of HFC refrigerant and commonly used in domestic refrigerator and air conditioning systems In the recent years nano particles suspended in base fluid has shown remarkable improvement in its characteristics The nano particles are added with the lubricants in the compressor of the refrigeration system The nano particle along with the lubricating oil mixed with R134a refrigerant and circulates throughout the parts of the refrigerator The nano particle enhances the properties of base fluids and found to have good compatibility with lubricants The nano particle enhances the thermal properties of refrigerants and improves the performance of the refrigeration system newline |
