Building a smart transportation system for fair price shops in India

Abstract

The Fair Price Shop is a part of Indian Public Distribution System which is established by the central government of India to distribute items like wheat rice kerosene and sugar at a very less price to the poor people While the central government is responsible for the procurement storage transportation and bulk allocation of food grains and the state governments hold the responsibility for distributing them to the people through the fair price shops Building a smart transportation to handover the ration goods to fair price shops in India is the task considered in this research work Public Distribution System has received a lot of criticisms from the public during transportation of goods due to leakages corruption and mismanagement The pointed criticism includes inefficient government machinery lack of management poor vigilance mechanism high level of corruption and theft during the transportation of goods The above listed incidents made the Union Ministry of Urban Development of India to renovate the public distribution system in a smarter way Owing to the difficulty faced by the Public Distribution System adequate technological improvement is needed so that the food grains are safely delivered to the recipients Our research focus on building a Smart Transportation System for Fair Price Shops Whose objective is to design a smart vehicle for safer and secured transportation along with suitable algorithms for container loading and path recommendations for optimal arrangement and dispatch of ration materials newline
