dc.description.abstract | Pyrolysis is one of the primary thermo chemical conversion newlinemethods to convert biomass into valuable energy rich products namely newlineliquid gas and solid Agricultural residues are one form of biomass which is newlinereadily available but largely not utilized in energy recovery schemes newlineparticularly in developing countries In this research a pyrolyser system has newlinebeen fabricated to investigate the pyrolysis of agricultural residues and saw newlinedust The system consisted of an external electric heater reactors with newlinedifferent lengths condensers CrAl K type thermocouples and newlinemicroprocessor based control unit newlineThe pyrolysis process was carried out with the samples of coconut newlineshell CS groundnut shell GS rice husk RH corn cob CC sugarcane newlinebagaseSB and saw dust SD The samples were separated into different newlineparticle size ranges by the standard sieve IS designation 4601962 separator newlineThe carbon hydrogen oxygen and nitrogen percentage were found by newlineelemental analysis the volatile matter fixed carbon and moisture content newlinewere found by the proximate analysis The Thermo GravimetricTG analysis newlinewas done with individual samples under static air conditions for measuring newlinethe mass conversion with the increase of temperature an newline newline | en_US |
