dc.description.abstractMost of the people are likely to snore at some point in their lives Snoring definitely causes health hazards when combined with the weaken quality of sleep and having difficulty in breath during sleep which is termed as sleep apnea In a recent survey throughout the world nearly 84 of the people are suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea OSA The OSA is a reaction of the tendon companies and smooth tissue in the lower back of someone s throat collapsing inwards for the span of sleep Sleep apnea may be diagnosed in special methods like PolySomnoGraphy PSG home sleep check and so forth In those days PolySomnoGraphy gold standard for sleep study over a night time in the specialized sleep lab This ends up uncomfortable for patient under test This test records your brain waves the oxygen level in your blood heart rate and breathing as well as eye and leg movements during the study The proposed method involves non invasive measurement of the OSA when the patient is awake This method has two main stages first stage is acquisition of signals using a microphone which is inbuilt and the second stage is analysis of the acquired signals along with recording The subject is asked to lie down in an upright position and they have been asked to calm down for a while After this the breathing sounds are recorded with the aid of a sensor by placing it on the surface side of the windpipe Then the analysis of the recorded sound is done and the scale is formulated In the second aspect recording is done with the help of the Think lab Audacity software Every subject is measured in 1 minute so that we can take an average of the signal over a period of time Once the recording is over the signal is analyzed and the scale is designed newline
