dc.description.abstractThe aim of this work is to investigate the effect of the shaft co axial and eccentric position on the hydrodynamics of un baffled stirred tank with V shaped impellers compared to disc type impeller The necessity of stirred tank was studied for better mixing and it could be taken into account with respect to proper design reducing the consumption of power achieving the measured torque enhancing the flow pattern improving the circular loop formation and etc The existing types are available in stirred tank as cylindrical and cubical size In the research the work is to be proposed with cylindrical type stirred tank volume of 0 0981m3 which compromise of all the flow field characteristics with respect to impeller angles into better manner In this research work baffles are not recommended because it forms the swirling velocity nearby the flow pattern Moreover the swirling velocity is not advisable for predicting the correct flow pattern The present work deals with mixing of non Newtonian in aun baffledstirred vessel by V shaped impellers The difference between coaxial and eccentric mixing were studied using computational fluid dynamic software GAMBIT 2 2 23 FLUENT 6 2 and the result is to be compared with experimentalvalues The comparison of the experimental and simulated mean flow fields hasestablishedthat calculations based on the k and#969; model equations are suitable to obtain accurateresults newline
