Abstract: After World War II many pioneers in the ergonomics field have refined the study of the science of work Today the science of ergonomics is more often referred to as fitting the task to the person It is easy to find research documents related to the association of hand tools and the problems that result if the wrong tool is used for a task or if the correct tool is used newlineimproperly The intention of the design engineer to create a better hand tool which always driven by the parallel desire to create a more efficient work flow and an improved product at a lower cost After World War II many pioneers in the ergonomics field have refined the study of the science of work Today the science of ergonomics is more often referred to as fitting the task to the person It is easy to find research documents related to the association of hand tools and the problems that result if the wrong tool is used for a task or if the correct tool is used improperly The intention of the design engineer to create a better hand tool which always driven by the parallel desire to create a more efficient work flow and an improved product at a lower cost In the last decade tremendous strides have been made in design and development of hand tools in an attempt to reduce the problems including potential injuries to the worker and also increasing tool efficiency Improving worker productivity and occupational health and safety OHS are the major concern in the industries especially in the developing economy like Indian Economy Some of the most common problems faced by the workers in the engineering industries are the practical machinery safety and poor man machine interface system design This leads to workplace hazards musculoskeletal disorder MSD mechanical equipment injuries and disabilities
