Abstract: | Low back pain is considered as one of the major problems among the adults across the globe greatly affecting their daily routine Apart from aging and overloading factors the main clinical reason for low back pain is Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease LDDD which is raised due to a compromised disc Recent technological advancements in computer enabled diagnosis and treatment options can be offered like Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRI with Finite Element Analysis FEA The traditional way of diagnosis like complete rest friction force medical assistance or physiotherapy and other specific exercises are prescribed once the chronic disc problem has been identified Thus medical treatment can be skipped when accurately diagnosed The main aim of this study is to numerically simulate the biomechanical characteristics of the human lumbar spine L4 and L5 and inter vertebral disc applying Finite Element Analysis FEA technique and invent a mesh model The boned regions of the MRI scanned images are segmented and the boundary lines are kept over a smooth surface together with the generation of quantity mesh exploitation linear unit for working out the mesh Thus L4 and L5 with discs are treated as linear materials with the exception of the ligaments The contact behaviour of the two bones that is disc simulation displacements and stress shows the pre operation of the human lumbar spine The results show the chances of fracture in human lumbar spine of the affected in respect to displacements newline |
