Mobile ad hoc networks MANETs are built up with the mobile nodes which make a complex distributed system without the aid of any centralized infrastructure and are characterized by limited energy resources The clustering architecture has been introduced to overcome the issues in flat MANET that was designed as an initial topology The clustering architecture identifies some set of nodes to be cluster heads and assigning the responsibility for managing routing among the clustered nodes that are in its proximity Generally clustering in MANET provides numerous benefits such as spatial reuse of bandwidth routing overhead minimization and minimal energy consumption However in uniformly deployed clustered MANET the non uniform traffic distribution often leads to energy hole problem ie some of the nodes in one region may deplete their energy as soon as the other nodes in the rest of the region Since the energy is limited resources in MANET optimal energy consumption in the overall network is an essential one in the Clustered MANET Thus in this research work energy efficient cluster based routing approaches has been proposed such as Dual Prioritized Energy Dependent Partitioning DPEDP Approach Absolute Replication Aware Joint Energy Efficient ARAJEE Approach and Region Split Duty Cycle Bound Routing RSDCBR Approach to provide an optimal energy consumption and minimum routing overhead for MANET The Dual Prioritized Energy Dependent Partitioning DPEDP approach has been consists of three phases such as cluster formation selective node data transmission to attain energy optimization and path re-imbursement The on demand cluster formation has been performed in vi DPEDP where the source nodes are initially selected as cluster head to minimize overhead in cluster head selection The clusters have been replenished relied upon the residual energy of the nodes Energy Wastage due to transmission blockage has been addressed and developed a key concept of direct diffusion Furthermore sleep state adaption has been done at the nodes in the routing paths according to some constraints In path re-imbursement phase routing efficiency has been improved by performing a recovery mechanism while the residual energy of the nodes in the selected route has been lesser than the mean transmission energy. newline
