Abstract: The inevitable usage of internet has been increasing in day to day life in the form of audio image and video Digital data is more vulnerable to having multiple copies data modifications and storage of multimedia signals This leads to a threat in digital technology thereby information is not protected Now it is a threat in digital technology due to the failure of protecting information In the digital era provision of authentication and copyright protection are the most challenging problems Digital Watermarking is a promising technology to provide authentication rights over the internet It is a method of embedding the organization emblem or ownership information called as watermark into an original data without affecting the quality of data The extraction process which is able to detect watermark from host image and it can withstand certain potential threats such as cropping histogram equalization De gamma attacks etc The application of watermarking is widely used in e commerce broadcast monitoring digital photography and content authentication The first approach examines the color image watermark using Discrete Wavelet Transform DWT and Singular Value Decomposition SVD In this method the input host image color is converted into R G B gray images and the blue plane is selected for embedding watermark gray image for maintaining invisibility DWT is a multi resolution spatio frequency domain transform which is used to transform image coefficients into four different sub bands such as LL LH HL and HH In this method the LH HL sub bands of host image are used for watermarking These diagonal bands preserve low and high frequency components of pixels Singular values from SVD are intended for watermarking owing to preserve the most significant components of pixels with high stability
