Abstract: | Voltage source inverters VSIs fed variable speed drive VSD has developed as a necessary preference in most of the sections of industrial applications The feedback controllers for those drives for controlling the speed current flux ensures the steady state and transient improvement of the drive The pulse width modulations PWMs perform a vital part for the system steady state and transient behaviour improvements They have a major role for system balancing lessening of torque ripple Common Mode Voltage CMV mitigation bearing current reduction elimination of acoustic noise and vibration and dynamic performance improvement etc In addition to their noticeable advantages the PWM also has the liability such as lessened line voltage and current distortion dispersal of harmonic power decrease of Electromagnetic Interference EMI etc Impedance Z source inverters are replaced by conventional VSIs to enhance the voltage gain to meet out the application requirements There are the varieties of Z source inverters developed by the researchers for the drives and renewable energy applications These developments are mainly focused on the voltage gain improvement of the inverter output In the current era Multilevel Inverter MLI based Z source topology shown much interested among industry and academia Particularly the Neutral Point Clamped NPC MLI is an attractive type and it owns the pros of conventional two level inverters The improved voltage gain topology developments and PWM design are the important segments in the electrical drive applications In Z source inverter the shoot through switching is related to voltage gain improvement newline |
