Abstract: | The system is a group of individual elements that work towards an objective The physiological system is defined in a way that the group of subsystems that contribute towards the complex human physiological functions This system exhibits an inherent feedback mechanism and regulates its routine function which is termed as homeostasis The feedback mechanisms within the system are termed as biofeedback The regulatory actions are initiated from the brain as a central controller based on sensory inputs Due to the change in inherent behaviour a physiological system exhibits abnormal characteristics which affect quality of life of the individual subject It is due to the failure of certain subsystems Under these circumstances an external assistive device helps to restore the functioning of the system and improve its characteristics Hence with an aspiration to resolve the problems prevailing in the existing systems new control schemes are proposed for physiological control systems The proposed intelligent controllers for physiological system provides a wide range of control schemes applied to physiological process in closed loop control of diabetic patients under critically ill condition blood pressure control during surgery and regulation of drug flow rate in anesthesia process The intelligent controller uses knowledge based control laws pharmacological effects dose effect relationship and action of physician experts to develop a hybrid control schemes newline |
