Abstract: In the 21st century it is very essential to support organic farming in Punjab. As it protects our future generation from the various harmful effects of chemicals and pesticides. As we know that Agriculture is the main occupation in Punjab. But farming in Punjab has been at the cost of extensive usage of chemicals and fertilisers. Excess of use of chemicals have deteriorated soil and its water holding capacity and infiltration. With the usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in the agriculture, though yield in the farms has increased initially, but the adverse effects of over exploitation of land and water resources have led to serious implication ultimately spoiling the quality of soil. Pesticides cause death, disability, organ dysfunction, incapacitation and much other illness. Immediate effects may include dizziness, headache, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, difficulty of breathing, weakness and many other symptoms, which are often, may not readily be recognized as pesticides poisoning. The health effects may be mild, moderate or severe depending on the degree and circumstances of exposure. Thus consumers are moving towards organic food. They are becoming more health conscious. newline
