Abstract: | The rapid growth of industrialization leads to produce a lot of industrial waste with various toxic organic compounds which causes water and air pollution The impact of these compounds has been considered as a serious concern for environmental problems due to their toxicity Therefore there is an urgent need to treat these toxic industrial outlets in an environmentally benign way Advanced Oxidation Process AOP is a novel clean efficient and very promising technology to treat the toxic pollutants present in the environment This greener process involves the detoxification of pollutants by using visible light driven photocatalysts and hence they are low cost efficient and eco friendly Functionalized materials such as HUS 7 K2Ti4O9 KTLO and BN nanosheets and Fe2O3 with micro meso and nanoporous structures are the essential resources for Photocatalytic applications This study focuses on the importance of nanomaterials development with well defined crystal and porous crystal structures The layered materials based photocatalysts like Hiroshima University Silicate (HUS) layered potassium Titanate KTO Potassium lithium titanate KLTO Potassium lithium titanate KLTO modified RTiO2 and two dimensional 2D BN nanosheets have received more attentions due to their interesting and tunable properties HUS is one of the novel layered materials composed of nanosheets with high surface activities Moreover the photocatalytic oxidative decomposition properties of a series of HUS materials are extensively investigated In this series HUS 7 compounds are promising in the aspects of nonselective oxidative decomposition of organic pollutants newline |
