Next Generation Network NGN is an ubiquitous high-quality wireless service Seamless mobility is a major constraint in the Internet Protocol IP based Next Generation Network NGN The Internet Protocol-based mobile device which is roaming in and around heterogeneous access technologies have frequent handover from one technology to another and this frequent handover can degrade the performance Most of the application in NGN is multimedia wireless service with high mobile user expectations and increased demands on network resources Aggregated traffic in the network is bursty in nature.Highly correlated bursty traffic in the network can be represented as self-similar This poses greater challenges and exhibits more complexities than that of traditional non bursty traffic The aggregated bursty traffic in the network shares the common resource When the resources are shared there exists the possibility of excessive congestion in the link The performance in the underlying applications degrade due to the insufficient resource bandwidth or buffer space in the network The packet waiting in the queue for a long period can cause a delay in the network or buffer overflow which causes packet loss in the network. Both these QoS metrics can degrade the performance of the network if the Service Level Agreement SLA is not satisfied This scenario has a negative impact in the real-time multimedia application A major issue in NGN is to provide seamless connectivity to its communication partner hopefully without noticing any difference In order to provide seamless connectivity the resource has to be allocated efficiently in the network. newline newline newline
