Abstract: | Wireless Sensor Network WSN is the most standard infrastructure used in industrial and commercial applications due to its technical development in processor communication and low power usage in embedded computing devices In WSN the sensor nodes are energized using the batteries The main issue of WSN is the limited energy capacity of the sensor nodes Like other networks sensor networks are vulnerable to malicious attack Among the different assaults of WSN the Denial of Service DoS assaults make the framework or administration blocked off The WSN devices are operated on low power sleep mode to maximize the lifetime But the Denial of SLeep DoSL attack is a special category of DoS attack that prevents the battery powered sensor nodes from going into the sleep mode This shortens the lifetime of the nodes which in turn results in poor network performance For providing security against this attack the existing research works introduced various techniques such as storing link layer authentication jamming identification anti replay protection and a hierarchical clustering based isolation of nodes for addressing the DoSL attack The suggested approaches enhanced the performance of network but they does not provide an optimal energy conservation The conventional Intrusion Detection ID approach to detect and mitigate the DoSL attack provided the high intrusion detection rate low false detection rate But this method had the limitations of computational overhead and packet delivery via faulty channels newline |
