Abstract: | The extract of this research is the investigation of different techniques in order to protect Internet of Things IoT from energy based attacks IoT is a new era of communication which involves various objects and communication technologies to interchange information Since all objects in IoT are connected with each other and they operate in unprotected environments it introduces more number of new constraints issues and challenges that require security to be focused in a new way which does not exist in the present computing systems Wireless Sensor Network WSN and Mobile Ad hoc Network are the two important technologies in the construction of IoT system as they participate in sensing environmental monitoring data acquisition heterogeneous communication methods data processing etc As IoT combines MANET and WSN the vulnerabilities from both the networks affect IoT as well Sleep Deprivation SD attack is one of the specific types of Denial of Service DoS attack in which the attacker sends an undesired number of control packets that seem to be legitimate Hence detection of this type of attack is much tougher than that of a simple battery draining attack Energy management and elongating the lifespan of IoT nodes are the other important challenges when the SD attack present in the network The following are the objectives of the research Detecting and preventing the SD attack torture in the IoT environment Effective energy management by clusterization of the network Extending the lifetime of the IoT nodes by propagating Malicious Node Alert MNA messages newline newline newline |
