Abstract: | newlinePhytoplankton are usually found at the base of aquatic food web and is the most important factor for production of organic matter in aquatic ecosystem. The interplay of physical, chemical and biological properties of water most often lead to the production of phytoplankton, while their assemblage (composition, distribution, diversity and abundance) is also structured by these factors. This algal biodiversity plays an important role in governing the physico-chemical characteristics of aquatic environment and its ecology. Amanishah Nala is considered as the lifeline of Jaipur and its typical perennial water flows decreases substantially during the summer months. This Nala flows in the central part of Jaipur. Today, the sewage content has risen by 75% and the sludge content has risen equal sharply. Amanishah Nala was anciently known as Dravyawati River. The pollution found in that river is entirely man-made, generated either by a dramatic increase in naturally occurring substances or by the release of synthetic compounds. Heavy metal pollution mainly arises from the effluents of industrial units. Some of the common industrial units releasing toxic heavy metals into environment are textile, paper and food industries. Algae are additionally ready to gather exceptionally poisonous substances, for example, Selenium, Zinc and Arsenic in their cells and water bodies accordingly killing such substances from aquatic environments. Algae are significant markers of environment conditions since they react rapidly both in species synthesis and densities to an extensive variety of water conditions because of physiochemical changes in water science. newline newlineThe main objectives of present study was to evaluate the water quality of Amanishah Nala which had the great advantages for monitoring the amount of pollutant present in the water and its impact on physico-chemical and biological components of the water.
