Abstract: The life style of human being in the world has transformed tremendously in recent decades but still every human being in the globe devotes the significant portion of their lifespan to earn the livelihood for themselves and their generations Therefore Occupation or work is an inevitable part of every human life The place where human beings perform their occupation or work is known as workplace People almost spends significant portion of their day time in their life at workplace even rapid newlinechanges in technology globalization privatization increases the work timings even till midnights particularly in services sector So in general the human life has two segments such as personal life and professional life The term quality of work life refers to the quality of professional life of an individual at work place The earlier researches in quality of work life evident that the poor quality of work life result in negative outcomes such as increased absenteeism interpersonal conflict lack of job satisfaction poor employee performance increased employees turnover deprived employee morale etc whereas the better quality of work life delivers enhanced employee performance employee engagement organizational commitment organizational citizenship behaviour enhanced talent retention etc in the organization Henceforth a research was conducted for investigation the quality of work life and its impact on work performance of employee with special reference to automobile industries at Chennai Tamil Nadu (India) The key drive behind for conducting the research study is to analyze the quality of work life perceived by the employees those who are employed the selected automobile industries in Chennai and to measure its impact on newlineemployees performance through factors such as task contextual adaptive newlineperformance and counterproductive work behaviour newline newline newline
