Abstract: | Our study is based on a reliable reactive routing protocol of Ad-hoc networks, Ad hoc On- Demand Distance-Vector (AODV) which establishes route on demand basis only when it is required by the originator node for the transmission of data towards the target node. We enlighten the basic approach behind our LBM algorithm. LBMAODV is an attempt to introduce a control over the distributed nodes of the network. The Packet Delivery ratio, energy consumption, data rate and various End to End Delay issues, QoS metrics are tried to manage in the algorithm. The proposed protocol is divided into two phases: Route Formation and Route Preservation, the formation of route for data transmission from originator to target is established in the first phase. While forming route the routing table of each node maintains a boolean value LR which is default set as false, but during the second phase of the protocol: Route Preservation, the value of LR plays a vital role in enhancing the performance of the protocol. newlineIn the present work, we investigate and find out solution for local repair of AODV protocol in mobile Ad Hoc networks for providing quality service. The present work focuses on providing a solution by introducing LBM that result in reducing time of deciding whether the upstream node of link failure will perform local repair or go for new RREQ to the originator which decreases the end to end delay of transmission and avoids link breaks which finally results in better performance of the protocol. newlineThe objectives have been set to achieve the problem statement in the proposed work (LBMAODV) are as follows: newlineand#61623; Modifications done in the link break management in the existing AODV protocol in order to reduce packet drops and path loss. In header file aodv-rtable.h one more private parameter of type boolean is declared in class RoutingTableEntry to mark the value of LBM and to set and get the value of this parameter two supporting function are also declared in the public section of the same class. newline |
