Abstract: Paulo Freire, as an existentialist phenomenologist, proposed the idea of newlinecritical thinking and praxis wherein praxis is the critical reflection on one action to get liberated. Hence by reflection and action in the right direction every individual can transform the structure that is the cause of oppression and oppressive feeling. It is important that philosophers of education can contribute their expertise and insight to many dimensions of human search to develop a social life worthy of mankind. The present thesis was meant to provide a little spark to the notion of active education system with special reference to Paulo Freire; we have also touched upon the idea of university education and what the role of philosophy can play in the Universities. It is also true that the human mind is entangled with newlinedifferent kinds of oppressive feelings which many of us are unaware of in our daily lives. All the more, many of our pupils and even educators are consciously neglect the cultural moorings of our society and making the individual separated from the problematic of society. Hence, the concern newlineof this thesis is a critical explanation of the method by which critical consciousness can be developed at the level of emancipation. newline
