Corrosion is principally the reverse reaction of a metal to form its ore. This process can occur via different mechanisms owing to variable aggressive conditions. Consequently, the measures of mitigating corrosion also vary. Modifying the corrosive environment by addition of inhibitors is a significant method to combat corrosion. The reduction of hazardous effect on the environment posed by the synthetic organic and inorganic inhibitors is a major challenge faced by corrosion researchers worldwide. This has prompted the investigation of plant extracts as inhibitors of metals in different corrosive media, in recent years. It is a cost-effective and eco-friendly method to retard corrosion and reduce its destructive effects. newlineThe present research work has a similar objective i.e. to investigate the inhibitive effect of green inhibitors namely leaf, stem and fruit extracts of Ficus racemose Linn. (FR) and Mimusops elengi Linn. (MS) on mild steel corrosion in 1N H2SO4 medium, by carrying out the following techniques: newlineØ Potentiodynamic polarization studies newlineØ Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy newlineØ Temperature kinetics studies newlineØ Scanning electron microscopy newlineØ Atomic force microscopy newlineØ Gas chromatography-Mass spectrometry
