Abstract: | Nature creates most flexible and iterative approach for the synthesis of variety of molecules possessing a broad spectrum of biological profiles. Heterocyclic molecules obtained from Natural products prompted the identification, isolation and synthesis of new molecules day by day. Most useful profiles pronounced by the heterocyclic molecules attracted much attention from synthetic chemists all over the world, since they produced many potential drug scaffolds. But the difficulties associated with the isolation and the requirement of active principles in bulk quantities made the chemists to look for the more and more potent synthetic strategies to produce broad spectrum of each category of molecules and their derivatives belong to the most potent biological compounds. Heterocylic molecules are abundantly distributed in nature, and are proved molecules to enrich human life in various forms. Given urgent need for inventing new drug molecules, new source of chemical diversity, several research groups have concentrated their efforts on finding scaffolds from natural sources both terrestrial and marine to exploit their biological profiles and to synthesize their derivatives with more potential activities. Most of the natural products having heterocyclic moieties pronounced some kind of biological activities such as antifungal, antiviral, antibacterial, anticancer etc, but major problem is the isolation of these molecules in sufficient quantities. newline |
