Abstract: Ch. Chhotu Ram has been significantly contributed his outstanding contribution to ameliorate the socio-economic conditions of the Peasantry class during 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. Keeping in view the self-oriented policy of the Britishers; Ch. Chhotu Ram has taken some of legislative and executive measures to make improvement of deteriorating conditions of the farmers. By forming the Unionist Party; he represented the peasantry class for addressing the grievances of the farmers. Ch. Chhotu Ram made consistant efforts for educational reforms, agrarian reforms and rural industrialisation in Punjab; particularly in the South-East Punjab. He fought against the fatal consequences; including passing the land of peasantry class to the money lending class at nominal prices; if they refuse to pay land, under the non-cooperation programme. newlineIn case of numerous of contemporary issues on tax and land revenue was not up to mark in accordance with changes which have been taken place during that period; as elaborated by several authors; belonged to different streams of social sciences. All these authors justified with their arguments and debates on several contemporary issues on tax and land revenue reforms; taken in different successive periods. In the same way, in the capacity of Agricultural Minister; he refuted the corruption charges, as alleged by the opposition leaders; as well some of local newline pressure-groups , but lastly, he was replaced by Hari Kishan; but he resigned in 1923. In this way he has tried to retain his reputation in the Punjab Assembly. His consistant efforts by raising voice of grieved farmers successfully in the Punjab State Assembly several times. It is therefore successfully executing the agrarian reforms in Punjab particularly South-East Punjab. newlineLastly, the vision of Sir Chhotu Ram is still relevant in the changing peasantry scenario in India.
