| dc.description.abstract | A geographic study of crimes in metropolitan city of Ludhiana, Punjab had been accomplished in the present dissertation. It invovled: an examination of the spatial pattern of occurrence of crimes in the city; identification and mapping of crime hotspots and its potential zones, type of crimes, vulnerable populations; study of perceptions of the victims, the local community and the police officials on the prevention and control of crimes; and an examination of association, if any, between the spatial quality of police stations, as the administrative units in the police administration, and their crime level. newline | |
