Effect of physical training and recreational activities on selected psychomotor and psycho physiological variables of visually impaired children

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of physical training and recreational activities on selected psychomotor and psycho-physiological variables of visually impaired children. At random, thirty visually impaired children, with age ranged between 10-16 years (Mean and SD of 13.06 + 2.23) from Atma Jyoti Avasiya Drishtiheen Kanya Vidhyalaya, Gwalior, M.P were subjects for the experiment. A written consent from the participants and their guardian was obtained for the purpose of the study. The study was delimited to psychomotor variables i.e reaction time, balance ability and orientation ability. Vienna Test System (VTS) was used to measure reaction time (Simple tone system - S 8 form). The flamingo balance test was used to measure the static balance of the participants and the numbered medicine ball run test was used to determine orientation ability. In psychological variables it is self- efficacy scale questionnaire was developed by Ralf Schwarzer and Mathias Jerusalem (1998).
